Halloween or the dangers of Flying in the 17th Century.

When Jane Wellman was tried before Mr. Justice Powell at Gloucester

Assizes on a charge of Witchcraft in the 17th century, witnesses for the

prosecution said that they had seen her fly!

After listening intently to

the evidence the Judge asked Wellman directly, “Prisoner can you fly?”

“Yes my Lord,” she answered.

“Well then, so you may,” said the Judge. “There is no law against

Flying.”

Despite the confession, which might have led to her demise, the

Judge instructed the jury to find the accused `Not Guilty.`
